Ohio attorneys – get ready to report your 2025 pro bono contributions.

The Foundation collaborates with the Supreme Court of Ohio to send out the annual Pro Bono Survey, which asks attorneys registered in Ohio to report pro bono hours and financial contributions to charitable legal organizations. The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete and is critical to helping the Supreme Court and the Foundation understand pro bono needs across the state.

“We encourage all attorneys to report their hours and to encourage your colleagues to report, too,” said Sophia Chang, the Foundation’s pro bono director.

Since the survey began in 2008, Ohio attorneys have contributed hundreds of thousands of hours of pro bono service and substantial financial contributions to charitable legal organizations, all in the name of helping low-income Ohioans gain access to legal services. The 2024 results of the Pro Bono Survey recorded over 86,000 hours of pro bono work, valued at more than $21 million.

Attorneys should expect the survey to arrive in their inboxes the week of Feb. 10.

“We are grateful to all of the attorneys who participate in the survey, and more importantly for the attorneys who provide pro bono legal services to low-income Ohioans,” Chang said. “Pro bono service makes a significant difference, and the attorneys who participate in the survey help us capture just how impactful that difference is.”
