The Foundation was deeply saddened to learn that former Foundation board member and dean of Cleveland State College of Law, Steve Steinglass, passed away on Feb. 4. Steinglass served on the Foundation Board from 2001 to 2018.
A graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia Law School, Steinglass began his career as a legal aid lawyer in Milwaukee. He brought not only his legal aid experience but also his scholarship and institutional leadership when he became dean of Cleveland State University College of Law, then known as Cleveland-Marshall School of Law, in 1997. Steinglass was a renowned expert on the Ohio Constitution, serving as a senior policy advisor to the Ohio Constitutional Modernization Commission in 2017.
“Steve was an amazing board member and brought his full range of life experience to his leadership on the Board,” said Foundation Executive Director Angie Lloyd. “He was a committed champion of justice, and his voice will be sorely missed.”
