Nearly 50 judges, lawyers, law school professors and others will gather in Columbus on Thursday to discover innovative ways to do pro bono work and improve access to legal help and the courts for low income and underserved Ohioans.
The Pro Bono Summit, hosted by the Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation with support from the Ohio Supreme Court’s Attorney Registration Fund, will be facilitated by Margaret Hagan, director of the Legal Design Lab at Stanford Law School and a nationally recognized expert in legal design, which is intended to make law more accessible and user-friendly.
Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor is to welcome participants via a taped message, and Justice Judith French will address attendees during the summit’s luncheon.
