The Foundation was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Ohio Senate President and Ohio Access to Justice Foundation Board member Stanley Aronoff on Jan. 31.

Aronoff, appointed to the Foundation’s Board of Directors in 1997 by the Ohio Senate, was an instrumental Board member until 2011, serving on the Public Policy Committee, the Nominating & Governance Committee, and the Legislative & Rules Committee.

“Stan was a champion of justice for all,” said Foundation Executive Director Angie Lloyd. “He nurtured and supported the Foundation both while he was in the Senate and later in his years as a lobbyist. He was kind and funny and always willing to give his time.”

His lifelong commitment to public service, vast experience in private practice, and devotion to access to justice benefited countless Ohioans, and his fellow Board members and Foundation staff treasured his friendship and good humor.

“I consider Stan one of the finest lawmakers I ever worked with,” said Foundation Board member Bill Weisenberg. “Stan will be missed, but his legacy of public service, including his love of the arts, will live in perpetuity.”

The Foundation extends its sincerest condolences to Aronoff’s family and friends. He will be sorely missed.

The Ohio Access to Justice Foundation’s Board of Directors serves from around the state and is committed to improving access to justice. Meet the Board.
