Position Overview:
The Accounting Associate supports the financial operations of the Foundation and its subsidiary, the Ohio Justice Bus. This role helps ensure the responsible stewardship of resources that support access to justice initiatives throughout Ohio.
Working closely with the Controller, the Accounting Associate performs a variety of accounting and administrative functions, including maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing account reconciliations, supporting accounts payable and receivable and assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and other accounting responsibilities.

Major Duties:
• Serve as a key partner in the Foundation’s transition to Sage Intacct, working closely with the Controller to implement, learn, and optimize the new system. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape accounting processes, improve efficiencies, and support a successful organizational transition.
• Record and maintain accurate accounting transactions in the organization’s accounting system.
• Prepare monthly bank, investment, credit card, and other account reconciliations.
• Maintain organized and complete accounting records, and supporting documentation.
• Process invoices, check requests, expense reimbursements, and other payment requests in accordance with established procedures.
• Assist with accounts receivable including recording deposits and monitoring outstanding receivables.
• Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Assist with the preparation, monitoring, and maintenance of departmental and organizational budgets.
• Maintain financial data and reports in spreadsheets and other financial systems.
• Provide accounting and financial support to Foundation programs and affiliated entities as assigned.
• Contribute to special projects, financial analysis, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum two years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred; experience with Sage products or other cloud-based accounting systems will also be considered.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative team environment.
